ST. MICHAELS THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY OF
THE OLD CATHOLIC CHURCH OF NORTH AMERICA

Welcome to St. Michaels Seminary :
BECOMING A PRIEST OR DEACON
St. Michael's Seminary offers a long distance directed study based program in Theological Studies for a
Masters of Divinity . Its primary mission is to form candidates for the priesthood in the Catholic Church. It
educates candidates destined to serve within the Old Catholic Church of North America. In doing so, it
seeks to inculcate a structured schedule of public and private prayer. These studies prepare the student first
for the Diaconate, and then the Holy Priesthood. Students studying for Diaconate will also be expected to
complete a practicum with a designated Deacon or Priest as arranged by the Academic Dean. A bachelor's
degree is required prior to entering the seminary for Holy Orders. Also, all students will be required to
complete 1 full year of community service or outreach with an organization approved by the Academic
Dean. Ordination must be through the direct laying on of hands by a consecrated bishop. All of our
bishops are direct descendants of the original apostles through valid lines of Apostolic Succession.
Individualized Education Especially for You
Candidates coming to us from Methodist, Presbyterian, and other main-line denominations are respected
for the education they already possess. An individual can submit his list of courses, and our Seminary will
evaluate and verify the courses with the institution of record; our seminary will fill in only what is needed.
These individuals should contact the Academic Dean : Bishop Rouville M. Fisher III. 386-446-9436 or
email the registrar of St. Michaels at stmichaelsregistrar@gmail.com and write in subject line-
